Veterinarians Suzanne M. Slagel, DVM
Suzanne Slagel attended the University of Illinois where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science in 1994 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Upon graduation, Dr. Slagel joined the staff at Gibson Veterinary Clinic as an Associate Veterinarian. In 2005, she partnered with Dr. Tucker and purchased Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd. Dr. Slagel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. Her interests include small animal internal medicine, surgery and dentistry. Dr. Slagel and her husband, Mark, reside in Strawn with their four children: Megan, Kari, Evan, and Andrew; a Great Pyrenees mix, Shelby; and 2 cats, Lena & Nala.
Emily E. Tucker, DVM
Emily Tucker, a lifelong resident of Gibson City, received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2005 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 1999. In 2005, Dr. Tucker became co-owner of Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd. Her interests include equine reproduction, internal medicine, and dentistry. She also enjoys small animal medicine and preventative medicine. Dr. Tucker is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Tucker is also a member of Well Managed Practice™ Group I. This management group is the first Veterinary Practice management group in North America that represents Small Animal/Equine Mixed Practices. Dr. Tucker and her husband, Kevin Davis and stepson, Aidan live in rural Gibson City with Sadie, a dachshund x labrador mix; Ike, a boxer; 3 cats: Larry, Chunk, and Spanky, & 2 guinea pigs: Jack and Enis. Dr. Tucker enjoys raising miniature horses and donkeys.
James R. Meyer, DVM
Staff Rose Street, CVT
Rose first began working for Gibson Vet Clinic in 1997. She left to attend Parkland College and received an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. Rose worked for the University of Illinois in the Intensive Care Unit for 5 years before rejoining the staff at Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd in 2006. Rose lives in rural Gibson City with her daughter, Liz, and an assortment of critters ranging from chickens & turkeys to dogs, sheep, alpacas, & horses. She enjoys drinking coffee, reading, making Twisty Treats, homemade dog treats, and caring for the farm. Ann Stork
Ann has worked as a veterinary assistant and receptionist since 1987. She joined Gibson Vet Clinic in 2002. Her favorite aspect of her job is learning new things and seeing how they help the pets. Ann resides in Roberts with her horse, Joy; dog, Lucky; & many cats. She has her own building devoted to rehabilitating and caring for geriatric cats. She also enjoys riding horses, reading and spending time with her 9 nieces and nephews. Wanda Wagner
Wanda, our newest employee, started in January 2008 as a receptionist. She had her husband, Charlie, have lived in Sibley for 21 years and have 2 children, Ryan & Kenna, as well as Chloe, a Jack Russell Terrier puppy. Wanda enjoys decorating and is a consultant for Signature Homestyles. Carrie DeWall
Carrie joined Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd in 2002 as a veterinary assistant and kennel assistant. She loves working with the animals behind the scenes and loves taking care of the boarding and hospitalized patients. Carrie lives in Foosland with her husband, David, son, Keegan, & their 9 dogs. She enjoys shopping, caring for her animals, and being a mom. Liz Street
Liz started at Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd in 2007 doing kennels part-time. She lives in rural Gibson City with her mother, Rose. Liz is a Freshman at Parkland College and plans to study Anthropology and Archeaology. Abby Vogel
Abby is a Senior at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School and joined Gibson Veterinary Clinic, Ltd as part of PBL's Vocational Education Cooperative. She lives in Paxton and has a Shih-Tzu named Becca. Abby enjoys showing pigs. Erik Nuss
Erik is a Senior at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. He joined the clinic the summer of 2008 as veterinary assistant & kennel helper. Erik hopes to attend veterinary school. |
